Welcome to the Centre for Newcomers

The Centre for Newcomers welcomes newcomers, and supports their adjustment in Canada with services and initiatives that promote diversity, participation and citizenship.  Newcomers learn the language, employment skills and cultural practices that characterize life in Canada.  Services are delivered by diverse and multicultural professionals in English and in a newcomer’s first language.

New Training Programs

  • Youth Possibilities, a program for immigrant youth, ages 17-30 is accepting participants.  The program provides an hourly wage for participants as they learn and develop their career path.

Centre for Newcomers: Youth Programs & Services

  • A new program, Moving Forward: Training for Employability. is accepting newcomers who are unemployed, unskilled and have limited work experience and education.  Participants will learn and develop essential skills specific to entry level jobs in baking and meat cutting.
