The Centre for Newcomers is a project of the Calgary Mennonite Centre for Newcomers Society, which was founded by the Mennonite congregations of Calgary.
In 2003 the Society broadened its membership beyond the Mennonite constituency. The Centre for Newcomers now encourages individual as well as corporate (congregational) membership.
Directors are selected from the members. The Centre reserves half plus one of its Director positions for "sustaining members," congregational members that have made a multi-year commitment to the Society. The other Directors are elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting.
