Settlement Services assist immigrants and refugees to make a successful transition to a new life in Canada.

The Centre for Newcomer's Community Development Department provides settlement services through these four programs:

Make your first years in Canada a great learning experience!

  • Learn about community services.
  • Get information about and referrals to health care, schools, housing, banking, employment, transportation, recreation and much more.
  • Discover resources and support for your family.
  • Identify your goals and create a settlement action plan for your family.
  • Prepare yourself and your children for school.
  • Volunteer and discover the many ways you can start making a difference.
  • Meet other newcomers and Canadians, have fun, and encourage each other as you adapt to a new life in Canada.

The staff at the Centre for Newcomers includes many newcomers who have made a successful transition to life in Canada, and who can assist you on the basis of their personal experience, and professional training.

Staff members speak many languages, including Albanian, Arabic, Chinese, (Cantonese and Mandarin), Farsi/ Dari, Filipino, Gujarati, Hindi/ Urdu, Kurdish, Punjabi, Spanish, Swahili, Vietnamese, as well as some Slavic and some Sudanese languages.

Where else can you get information for newcomers to Canada and Alberta?
