Your time, effort and dedication as Volunteers made a difference in the lives of the newcomers with whom you were in contact with directly or indirectly. May 2 was especially important for us.  Volunteer Appreciation Day is our small way of acknowledging your support, doing things for free.  It is our hope that you have also gained experience, learnings and fulfillment in knowing that you have helped someone.  We thank you for attending the event, and extend our thanks to those who were unable to make it.

Volunteer Opportunities

Are you looking for opportunities to get involved? The Centre's Volunteer Development Program is a way to contribute in the community in a meaningful way. Both newcomers and more established Canadians are welcome to participate.

Consider English Language tutoring, assisting with childcare, administrative support, newcomer support services, literacy tutoring, or assisting with event planning.

Regular orientation sessions take place every Tuesday, from 1:30 - 2:30 pm at the Centre for Newcomers. Call (403) 569-3325 to register and confirm session dates.
