The Linking Up program wants to help you develop relevant skills and attitudes towards work and gain firsthand work and experience in the supply chain sector in Canada.

You may be eligible for a 6-week free training, if you are:

  • Seeking employment and require assistance to attain employment.

  • Receiving EI or have received EI in the last 5 years.

  • Anew immigrant with permanent resident or citizenship status.

  • English language skills CLB 5 and up.

FREE TRAINING & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT WORK EXPERIENCE

Life Skills Training helps you understand, adjust and participate in the settlement process. The training will teach you how to better communicate with family, friends, and community members. You will learn about Canadian Culture and how to adjust, how to solve problems, how to get your children to do their chores, how to communicate with teachers, and how to set personal goals.

This program provides comprehensive and personalized services to EI recipients in Calgary and area for re-entry into the workforce. Clients may receive specialized technical training, childcare support and workers' benefits (WCB) while attending the program. Must currently be receiving Employment Insurance (EI) or have received regular EI payments in the previous 5 years. Would you like to learn and practice computer skills? We offer free computer literacy classes at the Centre for Newcomers. Content includes an introduction to computers, keyboarding, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. These classes are open to all - refugees, immigrants and citizens of Canada.
