Gateway is a new collaboration among organizations to better serve and support newcomers who choose to make Alberta their new home.
Gateway serves as a personal guide to help each newcomer through their unique journey, connecting them to the right service at the right agency every time—helping unleash their economic, social, and civic potential. Immigrants arriving in Alberta often find themselves navigating a confusing web of services, attending unnecessary appointments, and enduring the frustration of repeating their story to different service agencies, in hopes of getting the help they need.
Gateway is a new collaboration among organizations to better serve and support newcomers who choose to make Alberta their new home. Gateway serves as a personal guide to help each newcomer through their unique journey, connecting them to a variety of services in their community that are right for them. It offers newcomers one landing place to get the support they need to meet their economic, social, and civic potential.
Gateway partners work together to ensure newcomers are connected to the right service at the right agency every time—helping pave the way to a brighter future for all newcomers in our community.
Gateway partners include immigrant-serving agencies, educational and faith-based institutions and community organizations that offer services to newcomers, academics, researchers, and funders.
The Gateway Partner Advisory Council (GPAC) is comprised of seven partners that provide advice, input, and feedback on strategies, options, and analytical frameworks in the development and execution of Gateway. These partners include the Centre for Newcomers (CFN), La Cite Des Rocheuses, Calgary Local Immigration Partnership (CLIP), Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC), The Immigrant Education Society (TIES), United Way of Calgary and Area, and University of Calgary: Faculty of Social Work.
The Gateway Executive Committee (GEC) provides strategic direction and governance decision-making. The GEC works to ensure funders and Gateway Partner Agency Council (GPAC) are aligned on vision, strategy, objectives, and activities.
