The theme for National Volunteer Week 2026 is "Ignite Volunteerism," a nationwide call to action led by Volunteer Canada to celebrate the power of civic participation and revitalize the culture of volunteering across the country. It focuses on several key objectives:
Reconnecting Communities: Encouraging Canadians to reconnect through acts of service, civic action, and mutual support.
"Find Your Thing": Inviting people of all backgrounds to discover personal ways to contribute, whether through local events, grassroots initiatives, or ongoing commitments.
International Alignment: National Volunteer Week 2026 coincides with the United Nations' International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development, emphasizing the role of volunteers in driving progress toward global goals.
