PREPARE, REINFORCE, EMPLOY AND PROMOTE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES (PREP-PWD)

The PREP-PWD program is dedicated to enhancing the employability of individuals in Alberta with disabilities, including those with physical, cognitive, and mental health concerns. We believe that everyone deserves equal opportunities in the workforce.

What the Program Offers:

  • Employment needs assessment and personalized career planning

  • Engaging employment workshops and mental health-themed sessions spanning 10 days

  • Valuable paid work exposure for 12 weeks

  • Funding opportunities for short courses to boost skill sets.

  • Essential employment supports such as work boots, hats, and more.

  • Strong connections with employers and dedicated job placement services

  • Comprehensive job retention support to ensure long-term success.

  • Monthly intakes starting from July 2023

 

Qualifications Needed:

  • Minimum age of 18 and actively seeking employment

  • Residing in Alberta

  • Individuals with disabilities or mental health concerns who are currently unemployed or marginally employed.

  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or convention refugee with legal entitlement to work and train in Canada.

  • Willingness to address identified barriers and actively seek assistance for gaining employment.

  • Basic English proficiency: CLB 3 and above
